Durban Corbières

Durban Corbières is a small village in the heart of the Corbières region of Aude, Southern France.  The old town is dominated by the medieval Cathar castle at the top of the hill.  The river Berre runs through the centre lined with plane trees and all the main amenities are alongside.

The houses are built of local stone with terracotta roofs and wind up the hill towards the castle.  On the opposite bank lies the Mairie, school,  swimming pool and tennis courts.  Further up the hills on this side lies Domaine des Pins - where you will find Villa les Hauts.

The village has a supermarket, cafe, bank with ATM, pharmacy and bakery, tabac, petrol station and of course wine cellars where you can try the local vintage.

The climate is Mediterranean with hot dry summers and clear blue skies. On average there are more than 300 days of sunshine a year and temperatures in high summer go well into the 30’s. Yet the house is only 2 hours from the winter ski resorts at Font Romeu.
