The beaches of the Mediterranean are only about half an hour away.  The best are Le Franqui, which also has a beach on the etang (inland lake), Leucate and Torreille Plage.  Barcarès with its Marina and fish restaurants is an excellent place to relax after a swim.  The beaches vary from fine sand to gritty sand - most of them are good for children and have car parking close by.  There are cafés and bars everywhere.

Le Franqui is good for wind surfing. 

In the house are local maps to enable you to find these places.  All we ask is that you leave them in the house for the next people.
